Scope
One unit, or the whole fleet
Printers are the most abandoned device class in any office. They fail in ways that are tedious rather than difficult, so they get worked around instead of fixed: a queue nobody can clear, a scan-to-folder that broke when the file server moved, one machine everybody knows to avoid. The workarounds are invisible in a budget and expensive in aggregate.
- 01
One machine
The one nobody can fix, diagnosed and either returned to service or honestly written off.
- 02
An office fleet
Every device inventoried, queues and drivers rationalised, scanning paths repaired, and consumables documented.
- 03
A multi-floor or multi-site estate
Standardised deployment and naming so a device is identifiable from its label and a queue is identifiable from its name.
How it runs
In the order the work happens
The sequence matters more than the list. Most of what goes wrong on these jobs traces back to a step skipped early rather than to the work itself.
- 01
Inventory what is actually deployed
Model, location, connection method, firmware and consumable type. Most printer estates have at least one device nobody can account for and one that has been offline for months.
- 02
Fix the path, not the symptom
A queue that jams is usually a driver, a permission, or a name that changed. Clearing it once is a call next week; correcting the path is the end of the problem.
- 03
Repair the scanning that quietly stopped working
Scan-to-folder and scan-to-mail break when a server moves or an authentication method changes, and are almost never reported — people just stop using them.
- 04
Leave it documented
What is where, what it is called, what it takes, and who to call for parts. The estate becomes something that can be handed over.

Not this
What we do not do here
Stating this is what makes the rest of the page worth believing, and it saves you a call that was never going to end in work.
- Managed print contracts and per-page billing arrangements.
- Warranty work on devices under a manufacturer or dealer agreement, where their engineer is the cheaper route.
- Bulk consumable supply, though we will tell you exactly what each device takes.
Questions
Before you call
- Is it worth repairing an older printer?
- Sometimes clearly yes and sometimes clearly not, and we will tell you which. A machine whose consumables cost more than a replacement is a machine to retire, and saying so is more useful than another service call.
