Asset Procurement & Lifecycle

Buying the right equipment, receiving it, tagging it, and knowing where it is three years later. We specify against the work rather than the catalogue, source it without marking up hardware we did not manufacture, and hand you a reconciled inventory — then handle the wipe, the disposal chain and the certificate when it reaches the end.

Scope

What this looks like at your size

Most organisations know what they bought and not what they have. Machines are ordered against last year's specification, arrive without being tagged, get moved between people twice, and surface three years later as an unidentifiable laptop in a drawer with somebody's data still on it. The cost is not the purchasing — it is the warranty nobody claimed, the licence still being paid for, and the disposal that has no record behind it.

  1. 01

    A single purchase

Getting one specification right, which is usually a short conversation and occasionally saves a great deal.

  2. 02

    A refresh cycle

Specifying, sourcing and receiving a batch, tagged and reconciled against a sheet before it reaches a desk.

  3. 03

    Full lifecycle

From specification through deployment, tracking and warranty to wipe and certified disposal, with a record at each end.

How it runs

In the order the work happens

The sequence matters more than the list. Most of what goes wrong on these jobs traces back to a step skipped early rather than to the work itself.

  1. 01

Specify against the work, not the catalogue

What the machine has to do, for how long, and where it will bind first. A specification chosen by a configurator is chosen by whoever wrote the configurator.

  2. 02

Source without a markup on the hardware

We are paid for the work rather than on the equipment, which is what lets us tell you when the cheaper part is the right one. You see what it costs.

  3. 03

Receive, tag and reconcile before deployment

Serials recorded, asset tags applied, and the delivery checked against what was ordered — at receipt, when a discrepancy is still the vendor's problem rather than yours.

  4. 04

Close the loop at the other end

When it retires: wiped to a documented standard, inventoried out, and passed into a certified disposal or RMA chain with a certificate. An asset register with no exit is a register that stops being true.

What you get

What is actually delivered

  • Specification written against the workload, not a catalogue
  • Sourcing with no markup on the hardware itself
  • Receipt checking, asset tagging and a reconciled inventory
  • Warranty and serial register you can actually query
  • Documented wipe and certified disposal chain at end of life

Not this

What we do not do here

Stating this is what makes the rest of the page worth believing, and it saves you a call that was never going to end in work.

  • Financing and leasing arrangements.
  • Software licence negotiation and true-up with major vendors.
  • Holding stock on your behalf — we receive and deploy rather than run a warehouse.

Questions

Before you call

Do you mark up the hardware?
No. We are paid for specifying, receiving and deploying it, which is what makes the advice worth having — nobody here earns more by recommending the expensive option.
Can you work with our existing supplier?
Yes. Plenty of clients have a purchasing relationship they are happy with and want the specification and the receiving handled properly. That is a normal arrangement.
What do we get for disposal?
An inventory of what left, the wipe standard applied, and a certificate from the disposal chain. That is the document you want if anyone ever asks what happened to a machine that held data.
